Idaho

Waiting for the snow to melt in Montana.  It's warmer here, a little anyway.  The O is still high, wasn't happening.  The other two are happening a little, at times, when the wind stops.  Not for long.
Low and Clear

PMD's in the House!

Great pre-hatch

For the BWO's

Slashing eats on the Mahogany late afternoon

All over the damn place

Last known photograph taken on Silver Creek.  He wasn't happy.

  1. Jim: Looks like you are catching even with some adverse conditions. Past 3 Octobers here have been winter like, even worse, High Winds, day after day, and weak Baetis hatches. I'm going to have to re-think saving vacation time for this time of yr and just take it in the summer instead. Good luck with rest of trip and Tarpon angling.

  2. Ya, I miss summer, and it was pretty short this year. But it's definitely less crowded now. Trade-offs. Today, with the water covered in BWO's and not another fisherman in sight (On the MO no less!), I was imagining warm hands and PMD's. And the damn wind . . . Its been blowing every day for the last few weeks, except during today's snow flurries. Water is lowest its been all year. No runoff. Trade-offs. Sure miss the long days and multiple sessions. Trade-offs. Fish both seasons!
