Three days of summer attire. Sunny and warm. End of the tricos (Hopefully!). Perfect temperatures from the 30's in the morning to around 80 for a late afternoon high. Not 90's. Not 100's. Just perfect, and likely the last of those at this elevation until next June. Days to be enjoyed and remembered. The fishing isn't great yet, and may or may not become so between now and when the snow piles up. So each fish is sort of appreciated too, even though I'm pretty sure these aren't the last. They say the rain is coming for a bunch of consecutive days starting tomorrow. Snow next week on some models.
A few big fish fed on tricos at the start of the hatch in the mornings. A couple of mahoganies floated by now and then, just enough I guess, because I caught all my good fish on a mahogany soft hackle. ("That" one, pheasant and partridge.) Oh, one fish last night on a big beetle at sunset. Nothing else to speak of. Baetis? Nope. The weeds are atrocious. Dying off and just nasty. Geese everywhere. Water dropped from 800 to 550 yesterday. The season is a changing.

Good start. You are appreciating each fish. Norman now has long legs! Best of luck.
